Convex Sole Planes

This plane has a curved sole which allows you to hollow out a surface and plane curves. We have made many of these for Luthiers, Boat Builders, Oar Makers and Cricket Bat makers. It is capable of removing much more material that a regular moulding plane.

The iron is made of high carbon O1 steel and is 4mm thick and 40mm wide.

Sizes - Available in 4”, 6” and 9” diameter curves. Other sizes available on request.
